On December 5, Mr. Zhang Shun, Deputy Director-generalof CCPIT Commercial Legal Service Center, and Ms. WangFang, Deputy Secretary-general of CCPIT Mediation Center wereinvited to attend the “Symposium on Diversified ResolutionMechanism for International Commercial Disputes” held by theSupreme People’s Court (SPC) in Beijing.
Mr. Luo Dongchuan, Vice President of the SupremePeople’s Court (SPC), attended the symposium hosted by Mr.
Zhang Yongjian, Chief Judge of SPC’s Fourth Civil Division.
Ms. Wang Shumei, Deputy Chief Judge of SPC’s Fourth CivilDivision read out the “Notice on the Confirmation of the FirstInternational Commercial Arbitration and MediationOrganizations under the “One-stop” Diversified ResolutionMechanism for International Commercial Disputes (hereinafterreferred to as “Notice”), and announced that CCPIT MediationCenter was recognized as one of the first few mediationorganizations under the “One-stop” Diversified ResolutionMechanism for International Commercial Disputes. Ms. GaoXiaoli, Deputy Chief Judge of SPC’s Fourth Civil Division,explained related articles of the “Working Rules for SPC’sInternational Commercial Expert Committee (Tentative)” and the“Procedural Rules for SPC’s International Commercial Court(Tentative)” (hereinafter referred to as the “Rules”).
In response to the “Opinions on establishing the ‘Belt andRoad’ International Commercial Disputes ResolutionMechanism and Organizations” by CCP Central Committee andState Council, the Notice and the Rules are SPC’s concrete stepstaken to build “One-stop” Diversified Resolution Mechanism forInternational Commercial Disputes, which is of greatsignificance for further enhancing the establishment ofInternational Commercial Court.
The recognition of CCPIT Mediation Center as the firstgroup of mediation organizations under such mechanism marksSPC’s full approval for decades of CCPIT Mediation Center’shard work on international commercial mediation. Based upon aworkforce of well-trained international commercial mediators, inreliance of Sino-foreign joint mediation centers and taking theInternational Mediation Summits as a platform, CCPITMediation Center will continue to take its advantages, strengthenthe construction of domestic mediation networks andinternational cooperative platforms, actively promote diversifieddispute resolution mechanism, and provide efficient qualityinternational mediation services to both domestic and foreignenterprises so as to boost their confidence while participating inthe “Belt and Road” initiative.
